MOUNTAIN VIEW, CALIF. January 10, 2011 – Appcelerator®, the leading platform for rapidly developing native mobile, desktop, and iPad applications using Web technologies, announced today the company has doubled in size since November and added two key positions to its management team. Trenton Truitt has joined as VP of Worldwide Sales, and Kincy Clark is the new VP of Customer Engineering.

As VP of Worldwide Sales, Trenton Truitt will be responsible for expanding Appcelerator’s customer base, and growing new customer segments that map to Titanium-powered solutions. Previously Truitt was regional vice president for EMC’s Information Intelligence Group, and held numerous sales positions at companies including Documentum, Asera and Parametric Technology Corporation. He graduated with a B.S. in Business Administration from the California Maritime Academy.
As VP of Customer Engineering, Kincy Clark is responsible for Appelerator’s technical and development support, professional services and presales, as well as developing and working with technical partners to augment Appcelerator’s services offering. Kincy most recently served as VP of operations at Funambol, a provider of open source mobile cloud sync and push messaging for connected devices. Prior to that, he held senior operations roles at DHAP Digital, Insevo, and Apsylog/Peregrine, among others. He is a graduate of Claremont McKenna College.
Appcelerator has more than doubled in size since the end of November since raising its Series B round with Sierra Ventures and eBay. Beyond the new executive management hires, the company is adding staff in engineering, sales, professional services, support, and marketing. Appcelerator expects to continue its growth spurt to keep pace with ongoing demand for intuitive, feature-rich applications for mobile, tablet and desktop platforms.
