If you’ve ever had a car break down, you know what a pain it is to be stranded on the side of the road with a hefty repair bill looming. It’s something the average consumer deals with once in a blue moon, but for companies hauling goods cross-country, it can be a common occurrence. That’s why Navistar, a ‘driver first’ company that manufactures and distributes commercial trucks internationally, offers a mobile solution that provides real-time fleet diagnostics.
Navistar’s OnCommand Connection app for Android and iOS collects data from truck drivers and vehicles that are out on the road, so fleet operators can identify and resolve potential engine problems before a breakdown occurs. The app even offers information on nearby dealers, which means companies can easily work service pitstops into their routes and streamline the dealership check-in process.
Navistar is continually looking for ways to improve the driver experience. Next up – they’re planning to launch a social app for truck drivers that provides truck stop cleanliness ratings, information on service areas, fuel cost and repair quality. This commitment to digital innovation is why Navistar won this year’s Axway Innovation Award. Check out the video below to learn more about Navistar’s mobile solution and what the development team is up to now.
