Today, we published the following General Availability (GA) releases:
- Titanium SDK 6.0.1
- Appcelerator Studio 4.8.1
Other Notable Items in the Release
Titanium SDK 6.0.1 is a patch release of the SDK, addressing high-priority issues from previous releases.
The release also allows you to utilize Xcode 8.2. Apple released Xcode 8.2 last Tuesday, along with a change to the Simulator that allows developers to drag-and-drop apps to the Simulator to install them. While this is a cool feature, it unfortunately also broke the simctl utility we use to start apps in the Simulator.
These releases include 18 bug fixes, 2 improvements, and 1 new feature. For a more detailed overview, known issues and closed tickets see the following links:
Update Appcelerator Studio
Within Studio, go to the “Help” menu and choose “Check for Appcelerator Updates”.
Update Appcelerator CLI
Studio will update the SDK to 6.0.1.GA and the CLI to 6.1.0 (released last week) for you. To update them from the command line:
[sudo] npm install -g appcelerator appc setup
If you run into any issues that seem related to the updates, please report them on JIRA.
First, check if it’s a known issue you can watch. If you can’t find an existing ticket, then create one in the Appcelerator Community (AC) project and add as much relevant information as you can, including the release versions you are using.
