0 Flares 0 Flares ×

We are pleased to announce the release candidate of Titanium SDK and Studio version 3.0.2. This patch release includes over 250 bug fixes and minor improvements since the release of 3.0.0. In addition, it includes:

  • Alloy 1.0.0, our MVC framework for developing Titanium applications
  • Official support for iOS 6.1

Read on below for instructions, and for full information, please see the release notes. In order to be able to get in any possible changes, we need feedback by end-of-day on Monday, February 11th.

How to Update

Updating to the release candidate versions involves three separate pieces: the SDK, Studio, and the node.js commnd-line packages.

SDK Updates

These are links to continuous integration builds. To install them, choose “Help Menu > Install Specific Titanium SDK…” from inside Titanium Studio.

To update Studio, please visit and follow the instructions to update to the RC stream, or to download a new install.

NPM Packages

Note: You may need to use ‘sudo’ before these terminal commands on OSX and Linux

npm install -g titanium@3.0.24-cr
npm install -g alloy@1.0.0-cr

To revert back to stable versions:

npm remove -g titanium
npm install -g titanium
npm remove -g alloy
npm install -g alloy

If you should run into any issues, run a ‘npm cache clean’ and then retry the steps above.

  1. Holger Klein

12401 ist still not fixed. No use for SDK 3.0 with iOS and remote images.

    • Ingo Muschenetz

Thank you for alerting us. We will look at that issue.

  2. Stephan Schrade

Inculding the module “com.kuchbee.quickpdf” (Quick PDF Reader) works with 3.0.0.GA, 3.0.1.v20130114133207 but not with the 3.0.2.vxxxx Versions. Error says “couldn’t find module……”

  3. ads

I have found two anoying problems on iPad (simulator and device using SDK 6.1). when using TextField on popover, I have to touch multiple times on them to get the keyboard appearing (sometimes need to touch at least 7-8 times).
    This works fine on 3.0GA

When I want tot test on device, the app is not installed on it if I don’t change the version number. (no problem on 3.0GA)

    • Ingo Muschenetz

@ads. Thanks for the report. Were you able to find or create JIRA tickets for these items so we can try to reproduce?

  4. Ingo Muschenetz

@Stephan. Can you file a ticket for that issue?

  5. Jesper

It seems that a full rebuild now always is invoked, either building from TitaniumStudio or XCode.

    • Ingo Muschenetz

@Jesper. There were some cases we weren’t rebuilding where we should have been. Do you have a specific case?

  6. Brian Knorr

Loading a local html file into a webview that accesses local js files no longer works on Android.

This is a showstopper for this release.

  7. ads

Ingo, if I’m not wrong, as Indie dev I can’t address ticket :-(

  8. Ingo Muschenetz

@Brian. That is a side effect of You just need to set a base URL now.

  9. Ingo Muschenetz

@ads. You can create tickets in the TC project.

  10. Slim

There’s a regression with table views that have allowsSelection set to true and rows containing labels with highlightedColor set. I logged jira ticket:

This was previously working in Titanium SDK 2.1.4.GA but now it doesn’t work. Can you please fix? This is commonly used in iPad apps with master and detail views.

  11. Ingo Muschenetz

@Slim. We’ll investigate. Please follow along on the ticket.

  12. The Android emulator is no longer launched when trying to build a project:

[ERROR] Exception occured while building Android project:
[ERROR] Traceback (most recent call last):
[ERROR] File “/home/steve/.titanium/mobilesdk/linux/3.0.0.GA/android/”, line 2369, in

    [ERROR] os.kill(, signal.SIGTERM)
[ERROR] OSError: [Errno 3] No such process

  13. ^^ That only happens when trying to use certain Android versions, don’t know why…

  14. Ingo Muschenetz

@Steve…that shows you as using 3.0.0.GA. Did you try 3.0.2.GA?

  15. Okay, it’s the x86 Android emulators that no longer work. The ARM ones do.

  16. I upgraded to 3.0.1 then 3.0.2, and it says as much when I go to Help > About Titanium Studio and in version.txt:

    !define VERSION
    !define BUILD 201302191606

but whether I run 3.0.0, 3.0.1, or 3.0.2 it still says 3.0.0 in a couple places, like when I build an and run Android app:
