Jeff Haynie
CEO and Co-Founder
Jeff Haynie is Co-founder and CEO of Appcelerator. Jeff is a long-time serial entrepreneur, technologist and blogger. Previously, Jeff was Co-founder and CTO of Vocalocity, a software provider in the communications arena and before that, CTO of eHatchery, a digital incubator and off-shoot of Bill Gross’ idealab!. Jeff has worked on numerous standard committees such as IETF and W3C as well as core contributor to a number of important open source technologies such as JBoss and OpenVXI. Nolan Wright
CTO and Co-Founder
Nolan leads engineering and product management at Appcelerator. Before co-founding Appcelerator, Nolan led engineering and product management for Vocalocity, a VoiceXML platform company. Nolan started his career at Andersen Consulting (now Accenture), and then went to work for Netscape. Nolan graduated from Vanderbilt University with a degree in Electrical Engineering.
Michael Asher
CFO
Michael is responsible for all of Appcelerator’s global finance and administration operations. Most recently, he served as CFO for Greenplum, where he grew the company from $2 million through its acquisition to EMC. Prior to Greenplum, Michael served as the CFO for newScale (acquired by Cisco) and before that VP of Finance for Octane Software (acquired by Ephiphany). Michael received his Bachelor of Science degree in engineering from the University of California Berkeley, where he also earned his MBA in finance at the Walter A. HaaS School of Business.
Trenton Truitt
VP – Worldwide Sales
Trenton is responsible for expanding Appcelerator’s customer base, and growing new customer segments that map to Titanium-powered solutions. Previously Truitt was regional vice president for EMC’s Information Intelligence Group, and held numerous sales positions at companies including Documentum, Asera and Parametric Technology Corporation. He graduated with a B.S. in Business Administration from the California Maritime Academy.
Doug Norton-Bilsby
VP & Managing Director, EMEA
Doug leads Appcelerator’s sales and operations in Europe, the Middle East and Africa, managing the region’s sales and engineering teams. Doug has vast multi-national experience taking start-ups through hyper-growth cycles. Most recently, Doug headed EMEA and India sales and marketing at Experian. Prior to that, Doug was Vice President, International for Endeca Technologies, where he was responsible for sales, marketing, telesales, sales engineering, business and channel development contributing significantly to their global growth, and Vice President of EMEA at Infor which during his tenure grew from $100 million in annual revenue to $2.6 billion. Doug has also held various sales positions at Cognos, Thomson Financial Software and Dun and Bradstreet. He is a graduate of Open University, with a post-graduate diploma in management, specializing in business.
Carl Orthlieb
VP – Engineering
Carl leads the development of Appcelerator’s integrated mobile platform, including Titanium, Titanium Studio, and Appcelerator cloud and analytics products. Carl has 25 years of experience in software development engineering for mobile, desktop, enterprise and SaaS solutions. Prior to Appcelerator, Carl was Vice President of Engineering, Product Portfolio Management at CA Technologies, and Director of Engineering at Pure Digital Technologies. He also served as Ariba’s Vice President of Applications Engineering, and as Adobe’s Senior Director of Server Engineering and Director of Acrobat Engineering. Carl has a Bachelor’s of Applied Science in Systems Design from the University of Waterloo, and has completed advanced courses in project management and computer science at UC Berkeley and Stanford University.
Jo Ann Buckner
VP – Product Management
Jo Ann leads product strategy, product planning and roadmap for Appcelerator’s integrated mobile platform products including Titanium Studio and Mobile SDKs, Appcelerator’s cloud, analytics, and Open Mobile Marketplace. During Jo Ann’s 12 year tenure at Adobe, she was responsible for business model innovation on the $2 billion Creative Suite business and most recently served as Director of Product Management, Touch Tooling and Creative Cloud. In this position, Jo Ann defined the strategy and led the execution of transforming the creative workflow with mobile apps and cloud-based services. Prior to Adobe, Jo Ann was Vice President of Product Management and Development at Pointshare, now Siemens Medical. She also held product management positions at IDX Systems, now GE Healthcare and Precedent Systems. Jo Ann holds a B.A. in Economics from Gonzaga University.
Kincy Clark
VP – Customer Engineering
Kincy leads the customer support and professional services teams at Appcelerator. Prior to joining Appcelerator, Kincy was VP of Operations for Funambol, a leading open source mobile sync company. Kincy started his career as a presales engineer for a French start-up called Apsylog. He also spent 4 years at Tibco Finance/Reuters, where he built and led the global support, web services, performance and training teams. Kincy is also an infantry officer in the California Army National Guard and commanded a rifle company during Operation Iraqi Freedom in 2005. Kincy graduated from Claremont McKenna College with a degree in Political Science.
