How it All Started
Appcelerator started with the idea that mobile will impact our lives even more than the web. Jeff Haynie (CEO) and Nolan Wright (CTO) founded Appcelerator in 2006 in Atlanta, Georgia and started building software to enable developers to create great apps – initially rich applications for the web, then desktop and by 2008, mobile.
It was a typical start-up…Nolan worked all day in his pajamas, Jeff in his basement and the company’s first office was less than 150 square feet. By 2008, it was clear that the market wanted to use what they had created — and Jeff and Nolan packed up their families and pets and moved to Silicon Valley.
Many releases, all hands meetings, and company BBQs later, Jeff and Nolan are still focused on creating the type of company that both customers and employees want to be a part of.
