About Appcelerator
Appcelerator is an open source software company that develops products and services for rapid rich Internet application (RIA) development on a service-oriented architecture (SOA). Appcelerator’s team worked on its products for more than a year before launching its first comprehensive open-source solution — having the opportunity to build, refine and extend its solutions through consulting agreements with large, private and public enterprises.
As a result, the company was able to launch a complete, production-ready rapid RIA development environment day-one — helping its community quickly gain the knowledge and skills needed to develop new SOA-ready RIAs, based on the company’s experience building real-world solution for its clients. Today, Appcelerator continues to expand its platform, recently launching RIA Developer and building out its SOA integration points.
Appcelerator is headquartered in Atlanta, Georgia, where it employs a team of more than 15 software industry professionals. Appcelerator officially launched its open-source developer community and first product offering in October 2007, after developing its product over the course of several large-scale enterprise deployments across the country.
